The University of Salford is launching the UK’s first National Foot Orthotic Survey.
The survey, due to go live this month, builds on the outcomes of the SMARTPIF EU project which revealed the varied approaches to the use of foot orthoses.
Jane McAdam, Director of Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics at Salford, said: “The survey will provide clinicians, managers, researchers, industry and charitable organisations with the first clear picture of which clinicians are providing which orthoses to which patients – and why.
“It will also reveal how service structure and changes in service provision are affecting clinical orthotic decision-making.”
