Seeing the light – launch of revolutionary light therapy treatment

Lucy Mason spoke to Kelvyn H Cullimore Snr, the US businessman behind the UK launch of a revolutionary light therapy treatment called Dynatron Solaris Plus.

It may be one of the oldest forms of treatment ever conceived but American entrepreneur Kelvyn Cullimore is predicting that light therapy could be the future for treating a huge array of diseases and illnesses.

He claims that light therapy can today be used in new ways to treat tissue repair, pain reduction, resolution of inflammation and bacterial eradication.

And it can help treat a wide variety of conditions from low back pain, burns, tendon repair and carpal tunnel syndrome to plantar fasciitis, gum disease and arthritic pain.

The secret is being able to use the right type of light in combination with the optimum wavelength and brightness.

Dynatronics is Cullimore’s company behind revolutionary new technology which combines heat or cold therapy in combination with electrical stimulation all at the same time and in a single device – significantly reducing the time typically required to administer three separate treatments.

Dynatron Solaris Plus delivers any combination of red light, infrared light or blue light and can treat large areas of the body.

Kelvyn Cullimore, the 80-year-old founder and international sales director of Dynatronics, is travelling the world to make the medical profession aware of the range of benefits that light therapy can bring.

He says: “Mankind has used light to treat diseases and ailments for more than 7,000 years.

“Virtually every known civilization – from Egypt, Greece and Rome to the Incas and the Aztecs – used natural sunlight for healing purposes and general wellbeing.

“Hippocrates himself even recommended light therapy for healthy living and for healing purposes and was known to have equipped his own sanatorium on the Isle of Kos with a large solarium.

“There is so much research out there to show light therapy works. What is exciting for me is having one of the most sophisticated devices in the world which offers red, blue and infrared light together, separately or in combination.

“It’s incredibly simple for practitioners to use and we have been seeing some amazing results.”

So where did the idea for the technology come from and who invented it?
